American Heart Association-New Mexico welcomes two new board members
ALBUQUERQUE, Nov. 14, 2025 — The American Heart Association–New Mexico has announced the addition of two new members to its board of directors: Martha S. Porter, a seasoned financial institution professional and community advocate, and Chris Schroeder, CEO of Real Time Solutions and a leader in public health technology.
Board members play a vital role in advancing the Association’s mission to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. They bring a combination of professional expertise, personal passion and community influence to help drive revenue and health goals, while championing health equity across New Mexico.
Porter brings more than 32 years of experience in the financial services industry. Her career has included roles ranging from teller to associate national bank examiner. Porter has served in leadership roles with the March of Dimes, Albuquerque Road Runners and the American Heart Association’s Circle of Red. She previously served on the Association’s board in 2022 and returns with a renewed commitment to addressing health disparities in underserved communities.
“Martha’s deep roots in New Mexico and her personal connection to heart disease and stroke make her a powerful advocate for our mission,” said Sherri Wells, executive director of the American Heart Association–New Mexico. “Her leadership and community engagement will help us reach more families with lifesaving resources.”
Chris Schroeder, CEO of Albuquerque-based Real Time Solutions, has spent more than two decades building innovative digital platforms that serve public agencies and private organizations nationwide. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Schroeder led the development of VaccineNM.org, New Mexico’s centralized vaccine registration system, which was nationally recognized for its accessibility and effectiveness. He currently partners with the state to manage capital infrastructure investments and serves on several community boards, including the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce and the National Hispanic Cultural Center Foundation.
“Chris brings a unique blend of technological innovation and civic leadership to our board,” said Wells. “His work has already transformed public health delivery in New Mexico, and we’re excited to have his voice and vision guiding our efforts.”
