Becker named 2025 Erie Heart Ball Chair
ERIE, March 11, 2025 — For over 100 years, the American Heart Association has been dedicated to advancing health and hope for everyone, everywhere. Leading the charge as chairman for this year’s Erie Heart Ball is Matthew Casey Becker, MD, System Chair of Cardiovascular Medicine and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at the LECOM Institute for Successful Living.
The Erie Heart Ball celebrates hope and progress made through the dedication and passion of all who support the American Heart Association’s efforts to impact the community's health. These efforts include the relentless pursuit of scientific discovery, public policy change and equitable health for everyone in all communities.
"Dr. Becker has been a longtime advocate of the American Heart Association and we are incredibly fortunate to have his support and leadership,” said Gina Klofft, senior director of the American Heart Association for Erie and Central PA. “His deep understanding of community needs and unwavering drive to make a difference in Erie are truly inspiring as we focus on critical issues and strive to equitably improve and save lives."
The 2025 Erie Heart Ball is set for Saturday, May 17 at the Warner Theatre. The annual event is a night to celebrate the Association’s year-round efforts to break down barriers to health in the region. Throughout the evening, the American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health, will honor volunteers and patrons, feature stories of survivors, and entertain guests inside a historic downtown Erie venue with a “reimagined” event and an exciting auction. The Erie Heart Ball is sponsored by LECOM Health, The Plastek Group, FirstEnergy, UPMC Hamot, UPMC HealthPlan and for a complete list of sponsors and details on how to support or attend the Erie Heart Ball, visit www.heart.org/ErieHeartBall or call
