Beth Reese Named to American Heart Association Southeast Board
ATLANTA, July 30, 2025 — The American Heart Association, Metro Atlanta is pleased to announce that Beth Reese, executive vice president of strategic transformation programs at Southern Company has been selected to the American Heart Association Southeast Board of Directors. As the world’s leading nonprofit organization dedicated to heart and brain health for all, the American Heart Association welcomes Reese’s leadership and commitment to advancing its mission.
Reese has been involved with the American Heart Association in various capacities for over seven years including serving as board chairperson in Metro Atlanta from 2021-2023.
“This mission of the American Heat Association to be a relentless force for a world of longer healthier lives has been close to my heart for years, and I’m honored to now serve on the Southeast Board of Directors,” said Reese. “I’ve seen the impact we can make, and I’m deeply committed to helping drive meaningful change through connection, compassion and the power of philanthropy to improve and save lives across our region.”
The American Heart Association Southeast region services Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Puerto Rico. Reese will assist the organization in guiding efforts to reduce the incidences of heart disease and stroke, the No. 1 and 5 leading killers, respectively, of American men and women.
