Boston Mountain Rural Health Center earns top honors for quality care from the American Heart Association
MARSHALL, Ark., Oct. 21, 2025 — Boston Mountain Rural Health Center has earned national recognition from the American Heart Association for its commitment to high-quality, evidence-based care that improves patient outcomes and reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke.
The center recently received three prestigious awards for excellence in managing Type 2 diabetes, cholesterol and blood pressure:
- Target: Type 2 Diabetes – Gold Level for outstanding A1c control and cardiovascular-focused care.
- Check. Change. Control. Cholesterol – Gold Level for delivering statin therapy and improving cholesterol management.
- Target: BP – Gold+ Level, the highest recognition in the program, for achieving blood pressure control in more than 70% of adult patients.
“These achievements reflect our team’s passion for providing top-notch quality care to all of our service areas,” said Beth Harris, RN, Boston Mountain’s chief clinical operations officer. “We’re proud to help our patients live longer, healthier lives.”
Nearly half of U.S. adults live with some form of cardiovascular disease, often driven by diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Boston Mountain’s achievements demonstrate leadership in prevention and patient-centered care, said Beth Jones, community impact director for the American Heart Association in Northwest Arkansas.
The awards presentation at Boston Mountain Rural Health Center honored several key leaders whose dedication drives the clinic’s success, including Jennifer DePriest, chief operating officer; Kelsey Fry, APRN; Dr. Larry Jennings, medical director; Dr. Charles Jackson, family practice; Dr. Brian Blair, family practice; Beth Harris, RN, chief clinical operations officer; Christian Passmore, RN, quality director; and Teresa Cole, Marshall clinic manager.
Boston Mountain Rural Health Center (BMRHC) is a federally qualified health center based in Marshall, Arkansas, serving medically underserved communities across North Central and Northwest Arkansas. Since its founding in 1994, BMRHC has grown to operate 21 medical clinics and 3 dental clinics, offering comprehensive care including family medicine, women’s health, pediatrics, dental services, behavioral health, substance abuse counseling, and telehealth.
The center is committed to providing affordable, accessible, and high-quality care to all patients—regardless of insurance status—while promoting wellness and improving health outcomes in rural communities.
