Healthcare champion leads year-round campaign to improve heart health in Colorado
DENVER, Oct. 2, 2025 — For more than 100 years, the American Heart Association has committed to advancing health and hope for everyone, everywhere. Through Heart of Colorado’s Heart Ball campaign, Dina Bush, volunteer chairperson and vice president and regional chief nursing officer at Intermountain Health, Peaks Region, will lead community-wide efforts to help ensure every individual in Colorado has the opportunity for a full, healthy life. The Heart Ball celebrates hope and progress made through the dedication and passion of all who support the American Heart Association’s efforts to make an impact on the health of the community. These efforts include the relentless pursuit of scientific discovery, public policy change, equitable health for the under resourced and underrepresented, and education to equip the community to take control of their health.
“Dina Bush demonstrates outstanding leadership and dedication as a visionary leader at Intermountain Health. Her passion and commitment to the American Heart Association’s mission, deep understanding of community needs, and unwavering drive to make a difference positions her as the perfect choice to chair this event,” says Stephanie Clark, executive director, American Heart Association. “We welcome Dina to the Heart of Colorado campaign, an initiative that centers around better health for every individual by focusing on critical issues and work to equitably improve and save lives.”
Bush is the vice president and regional chief nursing officer for Intermountain Health’s Peaks Region, overseeing patient care across eight hospitals and over 150 clinics in Colorado, Montana, and Eastern Wyoming. With more than 30 years in nursing—including pediatric and neonatal intensive care—she provides strategic leadership to advance evidence-based practices, quality care, and patient experience. Prior to her current role, she served as chief nursing officer at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver and Trinity Health System in Ohio. Bush is a graduate of Intermountain Health’s Executive Development Program and a 2025 Nurse Fellow of the Academy Fellows Program, Dina was named one of Denver’s Top 50 Women Leaders in 2023.
“I am honored to serve as the 2026 Colorado Heart Ball Chair,” said Bush. “Having recently lost my sister-in-law to heart disease, I am acutely aware of how critical the American Heart Association’s work is to saving lives. Working alongside our outstanding team of volunteers and the American Heart Association, we’re driving change, removing barriers to health, investing in groundbreaking research, delivering impactful health education, and advocating for healthy policies. Meaningful progress is built through shared commitment, and we’re working hard to create a healthier, more equitable future for everyone in Colorado.”
The 2026 Colorado Heart Ball will be held on Friday, Feb. 27 at Empower Field at Mile High. The annual event is a night to celebrate the Association’s year-round efforts to break down barriers to health in Colorado. Throughout the evening, the American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health, will honor volunteers and patrons, feature stories of survivors, and entertain guests with dinner, dancing and exciting live and silent auctions.
