Heart of Collin County campaign launches with bold vision for 2025
DALLAS, July 14, 2025 — The American Heart Association is proud to announce the 2025 Heart of Collin County campaign, a year-round initiative focused on improving heart health and saving lives through education, advocacy, and community engagement. This year’s campaign will be led by volunteer chairs Meg and Michael Gratch, culminating in two powerful events on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Cosm at Grandscape in The Colony: the inaugural Heart Congress and the highly anticipated Collin County Heart Ball.
On average, someone in the United States dies of cardiovascular disease (CVD), such as a heart attack or stroke, every 34 seconds.1 An aging, more diverse population, along with a significant increase in heart disease and stroke risk factors among younger people are expected to nearly triple the nation’s price tag on cardiovascular disease (CVD) by 2050.2 The Heart of Collin County initiative brings together community leaders, volunteers and survivors working to change that statistic.
“Meg and Michael Gratch exemplify the spirit of leadership and service,” said Jill Griffiths, Regional Senior Vice President at the American Heart Association. “Their commitment to improving cardiovascular health and their deep appreciation for the exceptional care available in North Texas makes them the perfect duo to lead this year’s campaign.”
Meg and Michael bring a shared passion for community health and a long-standing commitment to philanthropy. Their leadership in civic and charitable initiatives across North Texas, combined with their dedication to advancing cardiovascular care, make them uniquely suited to guide this year’s campaign. Their vision and energy will help drive meaningful impact throughout the region.
As part of the campaign, the community will come together on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Cosm at Grandscape in The Colony for the Collin County Heart Ball. This signature event celebrates the American Heart Association’s year-round work in Collin County. The evening will honor mission supporters who are helping to build a healthier future for all.
New this year, the American Heart Association’s Dallas division will debut the Heart Congress, a groundbreaking medical symposium also held at Cosm earlier that day. The Heart Congress will bring together cardiovascular leaders from across North Texas to share knowledge, foster collaboration, and improve care across the region. Topics will include valvular heart disease and its management, the increasing burden of coronary disease from micro to macrovascular levels, and the evolving state of heart failure.
“We are honored to serve as chairs of the 2025 Heart of Collin County campaign,” said Michael Gratch, CEO of Flow Therapy. “Meg and I are also parents of small children, and like so many of you, we want to ensure that they, and all children, grow up in a world free of heart disease. Improving the lives of cardiovascular patients and participating in the fight against heart disease is deeply meaningful to us. In North Texas, we are blessed to have the best of the best when it comes to cardiovascular care — the institutions, the technologies, and especially the doctors.”
That evening, guests at the Heart Ball will enjoy a live auction, and once the program concludes guests can enjoy live music and dancing or they can choose to stay inside Cosm’s 87-foot LED dome to experience the surreal world of “O” by Cirque du Soleil, reimagined in Cosm’s groundbreaking Shared Reality format. This unforgettable evening will blend elegance and innovation — from the thrill of bidding to the awe-inspiring visuals, the 2025 Heart Ball promises an experience unlike anything else in North Texas.
Sponsorship of the Heart of Collin County campaign offers organizations a unique opportunity to demonstrate leadership in community health, and connect with top medical, business, and philanthropic leaders across the region.
