Morgantown Heart Walk brings community together to fight heart disease & stroke
MORGANTOWN, W.Va., June 4, 2025 – The American Heart Association, a global force changing the future of health for all, is encouraging the community to lace up their sneakers and walk for a heart-healthier Morgantown this Saturday with the 2025 Morgantown Heart Walk. The event aims to raise funds to fight heart disease and stroke, the leading causes of death in the U.S. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m. at the Mylan Park Track Complex.
Chaired by Chris Hedio, Disease Management Specialist for the Mon Health Heart & Vascular Center, the Heart Walk will celebrate the Association’s mission to advance health and hope for everyone, everywhere, while incorporating physical activity, a live DJ, survivor stories, a “Pup Parade”, food trucks, and a Kids Zone for a family-friendly experience.
“We are excited to see the people of Morgantown come together to support heart health and our life-saving mission,” said Lauren Thomas, development director for the American Heart Association. “Through participating in the Heart Walk, not only are they helping our mission to fight the No. 1 and No. 5 killers of Americans, but they are also helping improve their own heart health.”
