New York City executive steps into chair role for Eastern States Region Board of Directors
NEW YORK, July 8, 2025 — David Chubak has officially begun a two-year term as chair of the board of directors for the Eastern States Region of the American Heart Association — the world’s leading voluntary health organization dedicated to longer, healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Prior to this role, Chubak served as Chair-Elect through June 30, 2025.
David Chubak joined Edward Jones in March 2022 and currently serves as head of the U.S. Business Unit and a member of the firm’s enterprise leadership team. In this role, he is driving the firm’s ambition to serve more clients, more completely, fostering deep personal relationships and delivering comprehensive planning and advice. Chubak leads key business-building initiatives aimed at meeting the evolving and unique needs of clients, while enhancing the value Edward Jones provides to its branch teams as they support individuals, families, and communities across the country.
Before his chair-elect role, Chubak served as chair of the American Heart Association’s New York City board of directors.
“It’s a true honor to serve as Chair of the American Heart Association’s Eastern States Region,” said David Chubak. “I’m privileged to work alongside such a dedicated and respected group of board members and staff, all united by a shared commitment to improving the health of our communities. I’m proud to help lead our relentless fight against heart disease and stroke, and to carry forward the impactful work begun by those who came before me.”
American Heart Association Eastern States volunteers and staff serve nearly 75 million people who live on the eastern seaboard of the U.S. The Eastern States region includes 13 states and Washington, D.C., and five of the top 25 metropolitan areas in the U.S.
In alignment with the American Heart Association’s mission to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives, the Eastern States Region generates critical revenue to improve the health and well-being of local communities. This support enables the delivery of science-backed information, health resources, community programs, and patient support services. As the nation’s second-largest funder of cardiovascular research—second only to the federal government—the Association also drives meaningful change through advocacy, public and professional education, and wide-reaching community initiatives, including lifesaving CPR training.
As Chair, Chubak will work alongside new board president, Dr. William Ashley, a neurosurgeon from Baltimore, and collaborate with fellow volunteer leaders to advance key mission and fundraising priorities for the American Heart Association, all in support of its 2028 Impact Goal: to drive groundbreaking advancements and implement proven solutions in science, policy, and care that create healthier people and communities. At the heart of this vision is a commitment to ensuring that the greatest discoveries in health reach people where they are—bringing better health and renewed hope to everyone, everywhere.
“We are delighted to welcome David as the new Chair of the Eastern States Region board of directors,” said Kelly Grose, Executive Vice President of the American Heart Association’s Eastern States Region. “David is a passionate and visionary leader whose commitment to our mission—advancing longer, healthier lives—has already made a meaningful impact on his colleagues, employees, and the broader New York City community. Over the past year as chairperson-elect, his dedication and insight have been invaluable, and I look forward to continuing our work together to drive bold, innovative solutions that improve health and well-being across the region.”
Chubak earned his bachelor’s degree with honors from Columbia University and a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2006. He lives in New York City with his wife, Jamie, and their four children. Deeply committed to giving back, he serves on the board of City Harvest. In his free time, he enjoys running, playing tennis, and flying as a licensed private pilot.
