Nonprofit leader ushers in new storytelling era for American Heart Association-Austin
AUSTIN, Feb. 26, 2025 — The American Heart Association, the largest voluntary health organization fighting cardiovascular disease, is proud to announce that Brad Wisdom will lead the Association’s work in Austin and Central Texas.
After a decade working at the American Cancer Society moving from Development Manager in 2011 to National Senior Director of Youth and Young Professional Engagement in 2022, Wisdom worked at the Miracle Foundation as Chief Global Development and Marketing Officer, then at Pencils of Promise as Chief Global Advancement Officer. Through these positions, Wisdom excelled at strategic relationship building and fundraising optimization, with particular emphasis on team dynamics and development. In recognition of his achievements, Brad was awarded the Business Elite North America 40 Under 40 Award in 2023.
“Brad’s vision and passion for community health are unparalleled,” said Jamie Johnson, Regional Senior Vice President for Development and Community Health for the Association. “His strategic mindset and dedication will inspire meaningful change in Austin.”

Outside of his professional achievements, Brad is a devoted husband to his partner Nathan and a proud dog dad to their two furry companions, Max and Rayna. Brad enjoys spending his free time playing competitive tennis, engaging in Austin’s vibrant nonprofit sector and supporting initiatives that promote positive impact.
