YOUNGSTOWN, March 27, 2025 — For more than 100 years, the American Heart Association has committed to advancing health and hope for everyone, everywhere. Through the 2025 Northeast Ohio Golf Classic, Joseph Salman, volunteer chairperson, Emeritus Board Member of the American Heart Association in Northeast Ohio, and Vice President, Manager of Card Services at First National Bank, will lead a community effort to help ensure every individual in the Valley has the opportunity for a full, healthy life.

The 2025 Northeast Ohio Golf Classic supports the American Heart Association’s efforts to make an impact on the health of the community. These efforts include the relentless pursuit of scientific discovery, public policy change, equitable health for the underresourced and underrepresented, and education to equip the community to take control of their health.

“Joe’s outstanding leadership and dedication have been instrumental in the success of this event year after year. His passion for the American Heart Association’s mission, deep understanding of community needs, and unwavering drive to make a difference make him the ideal chair for this outing,” says Andrew Kluge, Senior Development Director at the American Heart Association in Northeast Ohio.

“I am honored to serve as the 2025 Northeast Ohio Golf Classic Chair,” said Salman. “I’m eager to bring our community together for a day of fun, but an even more important cause. This isn’t just about golf; it’s about driving change, removing barriers to health and investing in groundbreaking cardiovascular research. It takes a village to make a lasting impact, and I’m honored to be helping create a better tomorrow for all people in the tri-county.”

The 2025 Northeast Ohio Golf Classic will be held on Monday, June 2 at the Youngstown Country Club. The local event sponsor is First National Bank. The local media sponsor is WFMJ.
