IRVINE, CA, August 8, 2025 — The American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization devoted to a world of healthier lives for all, announces Tania Saison, Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer and Associate General Counsel with Edwards Lifesciences, as the community volunteer chairperson of the 2026 Orange County Go Red for Women movement. The Association’s Go Red for Women is a worldwide initiative designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women locally, nationally and globally.

Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women in the United States, claiming more lives each year than all forms of cancer combined. Cardiovascular disease continues to be a woman’s greatest health threat, taking the life of one in every three women in Orange County.

“I am committed to the life-saving mission of Go Red for Women and am truly honored to step into the role of Chair for 2026.  Working alongside this impressive community of advocates, survivors and supporters, I will focus on raising awareness of heart disease in women and advancing Edwards Lifesciences Foundation’s vision of a CPR-trained community equipped to handle cardiac emergencies everywhere – regardless of race, gender or socio-economic status,” said Saison.

Saison is a strong advocate for women’s empowerment, under-resourced communities, and lifesaving education. She promotes public health by leading Hands-Only CPR training efforts and leveraging the first mobile Hands-Only CPR kiosk on the West Coast—funded by the Edwards Foundation—to reach at-risk groups. The Foundation’s support for Hands -Only CPR in Orange County and employee training reflects its commitment to building a Nation of Lifesavers ready to respond in a cardiac emergency.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tania Saison as the chairperson of this year’s Go Red for Women movement. Tania’s passion for empowering women and improving community health aligns perfectly with our mission. Her leadership and dedication will be instrumental in driving meaningful change as we work together to fight heart disease and stroke in women” said Savannah Mlot, American Heart Association, Executive Director.

This year’s Go Red for Women movement and its local achievements will be celebrated at a luncheon on May 1, 2026, at the Newport Beach Country Club, located at One Clubhouse Dr, Newport Beach. The 2026 Orange County Go Red for Women Luncheon is nationally sponsored by CVS Health and locally by Edwards Lifesciences, UCI Health and CoreLogic.

About Go Red for Women®

The American Heart Association’s signature initiative, Go Red for Women®, is a comprehensive platform designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally. While the majority of cardiac events can be prevented, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women, claiming the lives of 1 in 3 women. For 19 years, Go Red for Women has encouraged awareness. The movement harnesses the energy, passion and power of women to band together and collectively wipe out heart disease. It challenges them to know their risk for heart disease and take action to reduce their personal risk. It also gives them tools they need to lead a heart healthy life. The Go Red for Women movement is nationally sponsored by CVS Health, with additional support from national cause supporters.
