MELVILLE, N.Y., Jan. 8, 2026 – The American Heart Association, a relentless force changing the future of health for everyone everywhere, announces Hana Boruchov, founding partner at Boruchov, Gabovich & Associates P.C., as chair of the 2025-2026 Long Island Go Red for Women movement. The campaign will conclude with a celebration on Thursday, Feb. 26 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
Go Red for Women is the Association’s global initiative focused on closing the gaps in research, diagnosis and care that leave women undercounted and under-supported. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women, yet only 44% are aware of that fact. Nearly 45% of women ages 20 and older had some form of cardiovascular disease between 2017 and 2020, highlighting the urgent need for awareness, education and community connection.
Boruchov said her commitment to the movement is grounded in two deeply personal experiences.
“I developed preeclampsia during my pregnancy, which opened my eyes to the unique ways cardiovascular disease affects women and how often those risks are overlooked,” Boruchov said. “Years earlier, I completed CPR training through the Heart Association. I never imagined I would use it to save my daughter’s life. When she stopped breathing during a seizure, that training guided every second until help arrived. She is alive today because of it.”
She added that empowering women with knowledge and lifesaving skills is at the heart of why she is stepping into this role.
“Women rely on one another for information and support. Go Red strengthens that community so more women can protect their health and the health of those they love,” she said.
Tara Schneider, executive director of the American Heart Association on Long Island, said Boruchov’s uplifting story and steadfast leadership will elevate the campaign’s reach and impact.
“Hana brings extraordinary purpose, clarity and heart to this role. Her lived experience shows why this movement matters and why women deserve tailored information, support and care,” Schneider said. “Her leadership will help us reach more families, empower more women and drive real change across Long Island.”
The 2025-2026 Go Red for Women movement will engage community leaders, workplaces and families in education, CPR awareness and advocacy for better health outcomes for all women.

About Go Red for Women®
The American Heart Association’s signature initiative, Go Red for Women®, is a comprehensive platform designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally. While the majority of cardiac events can be prevented, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women, claiming the lives of 1 in 3 women. For more than two decades, Go Red for Women has encouraged awareness. The movement harnesses the energy, passion and power of women to band together and collectively wipe out heart disease. It challenges them to know their risk for heart disease and take action to reduce their personal risk. It also gives them tools they need to lead a heart healthy life. The Go Red for Women movement is nationally sponsored by CVS Health, with additional support from national cause supporters.
