FORT WORTH, February 6, 2025For over 100 years, the American Heart Association has advanced health and hope for everyone. Through the Heart of Tarrant County: Heart Ball campaign, the community strives to ensure everyone in Fort Worth has the opportunity for a healthy life. The local Heart Ball continues to bring awareness to Congenital Heart Defects and pediatric health, while supporting families, and improving health outcomes within their communities. It celebrates progress made through the dedication of those supporting the mission of the American Heart Association, including scientific discovery, public policy change, equitable health for underserved communities, and health education.

Kim Carter, of Luther King Capital Management, Headwater Investments, leads these efforts as the 2025 Tarrant County American Heart Association Heart Ball Chair. Her leadership drives initiatives to improve health outcomes and create lasting change in Tarrant County.

“Kim Carter’s passion and commitment to the American Heart Association’s mission, along with her deep understanding of community needs, make her the perfect choice to chair this event,” says Meagan Hemenway, Executive Director of the American Heart Association in Tarrant County.

“I am honored to serve as the 2025 Tarrant County Heart Ball Chair,” said Kim Carter. “I am committed to creating a lasting impact on the community I care deeply about, and I believe that by working together we can improve the health and well-being of families, especially children. Throughout this campaign we celebrate milestones, honor heroes, and achieve something bigger than ourselves, together. Thank you to our supporters for standing with us, living fierce, and fighting for all.”

Mayor Mattie Parker will serve as the honorary chair of the 2025 Tarrant County Heart Ball. "As Mayor of Fort Worth, I am committed to the health and well-being of our community. Heart disease and stroke touch countless lives in Fort Worth, and we have a responsibility to address these issues head-on. Serving as honorary chair of the American Heart Ball allows me to champion the amazing work of the American Heart Association, raise awareness about prevention and treatment, and inspire our community to act," said Mayor Parker.

The 2025 Tarrant County Heart Ball will be an evening of celebration and inspiration. Guests will enjoy dinner, dancing, and an exciting auction, all while honoring volunteers and patrons who have supported the American Heart Association’s mission. The event will feature stories of survivors and highlight the year-round efforts to break down barriers to health in the community. Shannon Murray from Fox 4 DFW will serve as emcee. Murray inspired many across North Texas and the world by sharing her journey of her daughter's birth and first year after finding out during pregnancy about her Congenital Heart Defect.

The 2025 Tarrant County Heart Ball, sponsored by Together to End Stroke Sponsor Medical City Healthcare, supported by the HCA Healthcare Foundation, and Silver Sponsors BNSF Railway, LKCM Headwater Investments, and The Klein Family, will be held on April 5th, 2025, at River Crest Country Club.
