DALLAS, November 11, 2025 — The American Heart Association’s North Texas team is increasing access to nutritious food for students and families in Irving with the opening of a new container pantry at Uplift Infinity Preparatory. The on-campus pantry provides a convenient, familiar setting for families to access the nutritious food they need.

The pantry was made possible through the American Heart Association’s Getting to the Heart of Stroke initiative, in collaboration with Medical City Healthcare supported by the HCA Healthcare Foundation. It is stocked with fresh produce and shelf-stable groceries and is designed to support families facing food insecurity.

“Good nutrition is the foundation of good health. We are proud to advance healthcare through partnerships like this Container Pantry at Uplift Infinity, which provides essential support to families who need it most. This effort reflects our system of care’s commitment to serve our community — inside our hospitals and also in the neighborhoods we call home,” said Allen Harrison, president of Medical City Healthcare.

The pantry is part of the North Texas Food Bank’s Container Pantry initiative, which brings innovative, community-based food access solutions directly into neighborhoods and schools. Each container pantry can hold up to 3,000 pounds of food and, when open three days a week, can provide access to more than 360,000 nutritious meals annually. Since first partnering with the North Texas Food Bank in 2023, Uplift Infinity has provided families with access to over 115,000 meals.

“The ability of our communities to thrive should not be hindered by a lack of nutrition access,” said Jenny Eyer, vice president of community impact for the American Heart Association in North Texas. “We are proud to continue our support of the community with this pantry, and we hope others in North Texas see what is possible and are motivated to act.”

Since the beginning of November, Uplift Infinity has seen a 3 to 6 times increase in the number of families requesting food assistance. The new pantry will help meet this growing need and ensure students and families have consistent access to the nourishment they need to focus, grow, and thrive.

The American Heart Association supports local food pantries and advocates for strong nutrition policies, including access to healthy school meals. In Dallas-Fort Worth, the local team continues to expand community-based solutions.
