Johnstown, PA, Nov. 7, 2024 —For more than 100 years, the American Heart Association, has advanced health and hope for everyone, everywhere. Through the Cambria-Somerset Ball campaign, Pam Watt, volunteer chairperson and market director of Cardiovascular Services at Conemaugh Health System, will lead community-wide efforts to help ensure every individual in Johnstown has the opportunity for a full, healthy life. The Heart Ball celebrates hope and progress made through the dedication and passion of all who support the American Heart Association’s efforts to impact community health through scientific discovery, public policy change, equitable healthcare access and community education.

Pam Watt’s career spans over 34 years in health care, beginning with her nursing education at Conemaugh. She returned to Memorial Medical Center in 2016 to manage the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Laboratories and was later appointed market director in 2024. A passionate advocate for cardiovascular health, Pam has volunteered with the American Heart Association for over 20 years, previously serving on the Indiana County Board of Directors and chairing the Heart Walk and Heart Ball in the region. Pam also volunteers at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Geistown, where she lives with her husband, Greg.

“I am honored to serve as the 2025 Cambria- Somerset Heart Ball chairperson,” said Watt. “My connection to the Centre County community and dedication to cardiovascular health have driven my commitment to this cause. I am eager to work with our team of volunteers and the American Heart Association to drive change by removing barriers to health, investing in groundbreaking research, delivering impactful health education and advocating for healthy policies. It takes a village to create a lasting impact, and together, we can build a healthier future for all in Centre County.”

The 2025 Cambria- Somerset Heart Ball, sponsored by Conemaugh Health System, Concurrent Technologies, UPMC, Highmark and more will be held on March 8 at in Johnstown.  This annual event celebrates the Association’s year-round efforts to break down barriers to health in the community. Throughout the evening, the American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health, will honor volunteers and patrons, feature stories of survivors and entertain guests with dinner, dancing and an exciting auction.
